Chris Welch Filmmaker & Winter Gardens are inviting you to join them for a special cinema screening of the upcoming Winter Gardens Video / Short 'U/U'.
A passionate metal detectorist embarks on a laborious quest for fame, fortune, and purpose, driven by the thrill of unearthing hidden treasures. With their trusty metal detector in hand, they scour hills, fields, and marshes, convinced that the next big find will validate their worth, transforming their life. However, they become increasingly obsessed with the search for material riches, neglecting the world around them, allowing themselves to become riddled with jealousy and frustration ignoring relationships that matter. As they dig deeper into the earth, they begin to lose sight of the beauty of life that exists above ground and the simple joys that come from being present.
U/U is a poignant tale that explores the distinction between external validation and internal fulfilment, reminding us that sometimes, the answers we seek are not found in the treasures we unearth.
